How we use AI to fight fraud and bad actors
As the digital world expands, scammers and fraudsters constantly find new ways to exploit unsuspecting victims. At OKX, we know we must stay ahead of the curve for security and to protect our users. That's why we've adopted advanced AI technology to combat fraud and prevent scams. By using machine learning algorithms, OKX can detect and prevent fraudulent activity in real-time, making sure our users can trade and use our products with total confidence.
Here's how we're using AI today, and what it does to keep you and your funds safe. 🔒👇
EagleEye
EagleEye is our AI face recognition technology that detects users who hold multiple accounts on OKX. No matter how hard the user tries to alter their appearance, they're no match for EagleEye. Unfortunately, fraudsters still try to create several user accounts to run scams on exchanges. By using EagleEye, we're putting preventative actions in place to protect you from fraudsters.
Machine translation
Our peer-to-peer trading fraud detection technology uses machine translation to analyze user behavior, transaction data, and additional relevant information. This insight helps us identify patterns of fraudulent activity and flag unusual transactions for further investigation. If a suspicious message is detected, an alert will be sent to the individual informing them of a potential scam. To date, the tool has alerted us to more than 1,000 potential fraud cases. The technology analyzes data in both Chinese and English, and for other languages, the data gets translated into English before analysis.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
A picture speaks a thousand words, right? Unfortunately, malicious actors can use copies or screenshots of sensitive identifying documents to pretend to be someone they're not and commit fraud. We use OCR to detect text in images and compare the text to official documents, which allows us to identify when something isn't right. In the last two months, we've processed more than 300,000 images and halted more than 800 potential fraud cases.
The trusted name
The above are just a few examples of the sophisticated technologies and methods OKX adopts to protect our users every day. It's why we're the trusted name in crypto.
